Bookish life update: BookTube, audio-books and blogging

Wrap up

Whats this? a wrap up/ life update??? The world must be ending or take it as a sign and hold on for dear life as these are rare around here!

Anyways, hi lovelies how have you all been?? I hit a few milestones and also started a few new bookish projects in the last month so thought it was about time I did a little update and shared it with you all!

BookTube Announcement!

My first big announcement they you may or may not already know about is that I started a BookTube channel!!! Its really fresh only two videos in but I am so freaking excited about it.

YT capture

Don’t get me wrong I love blogging and updating my bookstagram but I had been feeling a little bored lately and like my passion for all things bookish wasn’t as strong as it used to be. And then I thought what if I made a BookTube? and straight away I felt this new excitement the excitement and nerves of trying new things but also the excitement for learning new skills and meeting more people in the bookish community.

I have loved learning video editing skills and putting together my first few videos. I am so excited and am full of ideas for so many videos that I cant wait to put out into the world! If you have a BookTube or like to watch BookTube I hope you will join me on this new journey of mine! You can find my channel here. I look forward to hearing what you think! 🙂

Milestones!

This past month I also hit some new milestones on my bookstagram and here on my blog!

SO here on the blog I reached 300 subscribers which is absolutely crazy and just blows my mind that that many people want to read what this terrible speller and non grammatical person has to say! So thank you to each and everyone of you for putting up with each miss-spelled word and non-sentence it means the world to me! ❤

I also just came on today to realise I have reached 50 posts on this blog! 50 posts! what the??!! For someone who doesn’t stick with a lot of things I am so proud of myself for sticking with this (through a break here and there) and continuing to write about my passion for books, movies and everything fandom related! Let me know if there is anything you would like to see that I haven’t done yet or any books/movies you want to know my opinion on.

I recently also reached 1.5K on my bookstagram. which I just can not get used to like not at all! I love my bookstagram family and the community and all the friends I have made there. Those people are so special and just bring so much joy and goodness to the world! So if any of you from there are reading this, THANK YOU!! You all mean so much to me and I am thankful everyday I get to be part of the community. ❤

November wrap up

Wrap up

Reading:

This month was a very slow reading month for me! I have been slumping hard and have been lacking the motivation to read, I hope it changes soon! 😦 As I read a dismal 1.5 books this month!

  • It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover. This is an adult contemporary  book. This book was very emotional and sparked my discussion about trigger warnings. My rating is 4/5.
  • Lisette’s pairs Notebook by Catherine Bateson. This is a YA contemporary, I am currently only about half way through. I actually won this book as a part of a prize pack from Allen and Unwin Australia. It is pretty cutesie so far about a 3/5.

Blog:

I am pretty pleased with what I managed to get out on the blog during November. Mostly because of my discussion post. I don’t know why but I don’t come up with discussion posts easily and sometimes when I do I think maybe no one else will find them interesting. But I was really happy with how this one turned out and the discussion it started!

Life:

I am still busy planning my wedding! We are less than 3 months out now so everything is getting down to the fine details and I am very excited and anxious for everything to go right.  We finally sent out the invitations and now I am just stressfully running around trying to make sure I don’t forget anything!  Work has also been pretty stressful lately as we have been low on staff. But on the up side we will have new staff to help out in the new year and I got my first ever promotion!! Look at me being and adult and stuff! 🙂

How did I go on my goals for November:

  • Read at least 4 books.  HAHA what a absolute fail! Fingers crossed for better luck in December!
  • Post on my blog at least 4-6 times. – So I might not have reached the amount of posts I wanted to but I am actually pretty proud of the content so I would call that a win!
  • Finalise all things wedding related. – Again not everything is done but we have been making heaps of progress lately so another win!
  • Reach out/ get involved with more publishers/ companies I love. (not sure how realistic or how I will go about this! But we shall see!) – I have recently been given some amazing advice and support from some amazing bookstagram friends in the whole working with publishers and putting yourself out there thing. So I am excited to try to put it into action and see where it goes!
  • Comment more on other blogs/ bookstagram & interact more in general. – I have definitely worked really hard on this one! So goal completed but it is something I intend to keep up!
  • Drink more water/ eat healthier!  – Like always I tried and failed haha there is always December right?
  • Try to stress less and relax more. – HAHA with the wedding and work I think not!

December Goals:

  • Read at least 4 books
  • Post at least 4 times on the blog. And start to make plans for the blog for next year!
  • Keep working on trying to make more bookish connections and putting myself out there.
  • Drink more water/ eat healthier!
  • Enjoy the holidays with my family and at least for those days try not to stress!

Life:

I am still busy planning my wedding! We are down to 3 months out now so everything is getting down to the fine details and I am very excited and anxious for everything to go right. We got to do a cake tasting a few weeks back and that has been one of my favourite things! It tasted so good and I can’t wait to see the finished product! I can’t wait to see how everything all turns out and to marry the man of my dreams. Anyways other than that and reading, blogging, bookstagram and screen time it is pretty much work, home, sleep and repeat haha.

Blog:

So considering I finally found my passion and motivation and my way back to blogging after a completely unannounced, unplanned hiatus. I would say this is a pretty good blogging month! I would just like to say thank you to so many of you for welcoming me back with open arms it feels like I never left. I do truly love this little community and all that we represent.

Since coming back I managed to post 4 posts, all of which I am pretty happy with. If I had to pick a favourite for the month though it would be my review of A quiet place. It just has all the emotions while remaining spoiler free!

Posts:

R.I.P it or Ship it – My first post back after hiatus quick and fun!

Book Shelf tour – A guide to my much loved book room.

Life:

There really haven’t been any big life events this month. I love that I feel more passionate again about my hobbies, reading, blogging, bookstagram. The only major thing that is happening at the moment is I am busy planning my wedding! We are down to about 9 months out now so everything has finally started moving and we have a solid vision. We met with our wedding planner the other weekend she is so awesome and helps me organise everything and really focus on what we want. Which for someone who is prone to stressing as much as me is such a good thing. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out and to marry the man of my dreams. Anyways other than that it is pretty much work, home, sleep and repeat haha.
